Experience:

In High School, I played for my schools basketball team and ran cross country. The combination of these two sports was fun, but since I knew was not going pro in basketball I decided to look into other ways to get into sports.

In 8th Grade my mom told me it was time for me to get a job, so after looking online, I found out I can be an umpire for baseball. After umpiring for a full season I fell in love with the umpiring. After 8th grade I started reffing both flag football and basketball also. My reffing career lasted until 12th grade. However, reffing got me into other way tp be involved with sports too.

In 10th grade, a job came up to volunteer as a assistant coach for a local little league baseball team. I immediately fell in love with the job, and ended up coaching little league aged kids until 12th grade as well. Working with kids both as an umpire and coach helped me realize that I love working with kids, and that I am really good at it.

In the summer of 10th grade I started working as a camp counselor, but I only did it as a counselor in training. I has so much fun doing that I ended up working as an actual counselor for both the summers of my junior and senior year. After taking a break from working because of the Covid-19, I am a back to working with kids. I now work at a after school program in Eugene, Oregon.

My journey of work was a long one, and along the way I have learned so much and am very grateful for my mom making me take that job in 8th grade.
